Begin Your JourneyAbout Myself
Hello, I'm Sidharth Mishra.
I'm a psychodynamic psychotherapist and PhD scholar, working remotely in English and Hindi.
My work is rooted in the ideas of Donald Winnicott. I'm interested in how our early environments, relationships, and emotional climates shape who we become, and how much of ourselves we learn to manage, hide, or perform in order to survive.
In therapy, I work with the many parts and polarities of the self, including those that feel contradictory, uncertain, or unfinished.
Rather than pushing for change, I focus on exploration and awareness, trusting that a deeper understanding of one's inner world allows a more grounded sense of agency to emerge.
I work closely with mood states and their shifting, fleeting nature, paying attention to what appears, disappears, and returns.
Depending on what the room calls for, I use a balance of interpretation and integration, guided by what feels possible in the moment.
Alongside talk therapy, I gently draw from Gestalt-based art and movement practices, especially when words feel limiting or insufficient.
These approaches help create space for feelings to be experienced and held, rather than explained away.
I'm queer-affirmative and neuro-affirmative, and I aim to offer a therapeutic space that is respectful, steady, and human.
The Winnicottian approach believes that people suffer not because they are broken, but because they were not given enough space to be themselves, and therapy offers that space back.
Not to fix you, but to hold you well enough.
So something true can begin to breathe again.
Slowly.
At your pace.
